WWD or any other major fashion media outlets do not wish to treat runway racism this season as an issue so we haven’t had an actual official list of the demographics of catwalk models. This is pretty much an UNOFFICIAL runway statistics list I have compiled from style.com and TFS showlists. 4 major fashion capitals and their most famous shows were taken into account. Shows are listed alphabetically and appearances denote the total number of looks allotted to MOC (Model of Colour) .

The numbers will speak for themselves although casting directors and designers use the best voice blocking earplugs to block out any criticism -noise - against their white-washed line-ups. I apologize if I have made any mistake regarding the exact number of MOC who have walked in the shows but it is 1 more or less each time. Sometimes make-up and heavy wigs covering the faces made it way harder to identify models (style.com even didn’t list their names either).

I’ll start with Paris, the capital that holds the most significance out of all, and then Milan, London and New York respectively.

Regardless of any fucking statistics I feel like I need to express my opinion. I’m not a model and I live in Sydney Australia, though I appreciate every second of fashion week for the beauty of the clothing and new designs.

- maybe not as many people “of colour” want to be in the modelling industry. It’s not for everyone.

- the more we use “of colour” the more it highlights how we still can’t deal with racism in society.. Even women “of colour” categorise them self into this as well, a lot of us are guilty of it

-if we stop using the term “of colour” maybe people won’t be so god damn caught up in the talk and this whole god damn post would have never had to exist.

There are women and there are men in this world. Modelling is tough, like any other job, Regardless of where you’re from.
Casting is different for all different brands. You don’t know what goes on inside a designers vision so CHILL OUT AND TALK NORMALLY

i love it
